After 31 years of smoking 2+ packs a day I went COLD TURKEY. My name is Theresa, and I am a nicotine addict. I have stopped nicotine for 5 months, 21 hours, 14 minutes and 2 seconds (153 days). One Day At A Time - Never Taking Another Puff!!!! Extending my life expectancy 16 Days, by avoiding the use of 4617 nicotine delivery devices that would have cost me $1,626.08. 11/17/08 05:38	Theresa- Thanks for bringing up the parade. I quit cold turkey at 12:30 pm on July 26th.,2008 while visiting and bar-b-quing at my parents house. ( My Dad quit before I was born and Mom- about 15 years ago)

11/17/08 06:57	I tried to quit smoking every which way. Finally I tried what I thought was the hardest way "cold turkey" well folks, look at me now! I have been quit for 3 Years, 8 Months, 2 Weeks, 19 hours, 53 minutes and 21 seconds (1,355 days). It works, it really does, and on top of that I don't miss smoking, I don't crave a nicotine stick, I just am, I am comfortable being just me. Linda

11/17/08 01:55	I look at my quit counter many times a day and smile a lot. As I post this I can smell the cigarette that is being smoked by my friend at the back door. Just over eight days ago I would have been there having one too. It's still tough, but I'm making it, so here are my modest stats, of which I am proud: Krys - Free and Healing for Eight Days, 17 Hours and 57 Minutes, while extending my life expectancy 14 Hours, by avoiding the use of 175 nicotine delivery devices that would have cost me £45.51.

11/26/08 12:30	Smoked for 14 years- after gaining knowledge I see that cold turkey is the way to go!! Glad to be a part of the parade! (even if it's a small number so far- it's my quit!:) Mo' 9 days, 12 hours, 23 minutes & 6 seconds. I have not smoked 114 cigarettes since then, and saved a total of $47.11.

Making the decision to quit was complicated, but once I made that decision, Freedom and WhyQuit helped me understand the laws of addiction, explained the anatomy of a crave, and helped me through a couple of rough patches. Yes, making the decision to quit cold turkey was harder than quitting!
