On page 3 of "The Why Files" (in "Nicotine Addiction 101"), I found the information that nicotine sulfate has been used as an insecticide.
This reminds me of an episode that should have told me years ago that quitting was in order:
One of my pot plants had lice. A friend of mine gave me the tip to take the tobacco out of two cigarettes and pour
boiling water over it, leave for 10 minutes, like a herbal tea, then pour through a sieve and use the infusion in a sprayer. (Lovely stuff, yuk!) It worked,
though: The poison from the tobacco killed the lice, almost instantly.
I remember thinking back then: "So, I knew it is a good thing to have cigarettes in the
house!" (Junkie Thinking). But secretly I thought: "Holy cow, if two cigarettes are enough to kill half a million lice
within 30 minutes, what will a pack of them a day do to me?"
Of course, back then, I dismissed the thought as quickly as I could. I should have faced it. Maybe I would have quit
earlier then.
Still, I am glad I quit when I did. It turned out to be much more doable than I thought, and it seems a blessing every
day.
Only, what will I do against the lice on my pot plants?
