I'm into day 26 of my quit and just wanted to share a thought on the power of this addition. I was at the grocery store yesterday and when walking into
the store I saw one of those ash trays outside the door. You know the ones filed with sand. This brought back memories of a previous quit attempt when I
actually took a cigarette butt from the container and smoked it. I had been having a real bad day and was completely ignorant of the powerfull addition of
nicotine. I thought that I could have just a few puffs. From that incident, I began to rummage through my garbage at home to find butts, before I caved into
buying a pack. And then it was right back to full fledged smoking again. Pretty sad isn't it?
I know now first hand how powerful this addition is, and why I must NTAP.
I am feeling better every day and know that I will make it this time. I take one hour and one day at a time. Thanks to all of you for your support and great
posts.

Rick, congrats on the quit, keep it going by NTAP, anything else is just a pause. The real measure of addiction is not in how hard it is to quit, but how easy it is to use again no matter how long you have been clean. Read the desparate addict files, and one puff files, When I was still using I have done things which would cause me to hang my head in shame to get the fix but I did them anyway. Keep in mind a quit is only a quit as long as you NTAP, anything else is a pause of varing length, ending when you take a puff. You will not believe how quickly you adjust to being a non using addict, take it from a hard core addict, it does get easier RJW free at last 121 days after feeding 32+yrs, saving 16 days of life and $1095.00 |

First off, Congratulations on your first 25+ Days of Freedom!
Yep Rick, what we are dealing with, what we all are healing here is a powerful chemcial addiction dependency problem. We take care ofthe problem thru
subtraction. We subtract and delete the chemical compound nicotine from the list of allowed contents that we permit in our body. That's the only thing
we need to change in order to stay free - follow one rule, no nicotine by any means in any measure just for the rest of today.
I thought of the same two message strings as Roger. Hope you take a read. These are the sad but true stories of addicts who learned like you and me to keep
our freedom from nicotine alive we simply need to ntap.
