As rats go, a one pound rat is a rather big rat. The amount of nicotine that entered our bloodstream with our last cigarette was likely more than enough to kill a one pound rat. Imagine a ten cigarette a day smoker having smoked enough nicotine to kill ten big rats each and every day.

Joel came across the below fascinating article on how nicotine may play a role in the development of at least one form of lung cancer. The study abstract will tell us a bit more but it isn't out yet.
